FIVE MINUTE REJUVENATING FACE MASSAGE TIPS
This fun five-minute massage is so easy and relaxing, while also giving your face a little extra lift and glow! This one requires no tools and is great to do first thing in the morning to wake up the skin. You could even use this massage during your morning cleanse with oil or a creamy cleanser as your massage medium. Simply replace your usual lathering moves with the massage and then rinse as you usually would following cleansing.
Of course, you can also do this massage any time with a bit of your favorite facial oil. Because we are using our knuckles for this one, some form of a slip agent is recommended to prevent dragging or tugging on the skin.
THE FIVE STEPS
STEP ONE : JAWLINE TWISTS - With your middle and index finger, bend both fingers to form a "hook" shape. You will then place your non-working hand on your chin to support the skin and begin working up the jawbone with a light twisting motion to lift the skin along the jawline. Work above the bone, rather than on and continue all the way up to the hinge of the jaw. This helps to tighten skin in this area as well as contour the jaw and cheek area.
STEP TWO : CHEEK SWEEPS - With your palms facing one another, interlace the fingers and clasp the hands. You will leave your thumbs out and use them to sweep over the cheeks, all the way down the throat to the collarbone. Work just below the eyes along the orbital bone to help drain excess puffiness. Work slowly here and with very light pressure.
STEP THREE : BROW LIFT - Start in the center of the forehead between the brows and use your non-working hand to support the skin. Then, using your middle and index fingers, bend both fingers slightly to make your "hook" shape again. You will then place the backs of your knuckles so that one above the brow and one is below. Pull up and out, with light pressure, lifting the brow just slightly and carrying your movement all the way to the temple.
STEP FOUR : THE FOREHEAD - A little knuckle massage is great for breaking up tension in the forehead. Start by supporting your skin with the non-working hand, either in the middle of the forehead or at the hairline. Curling your fingers in towards your palm, place your knuckles just above the brow and with a gentle press, work up to the hairline. You can work in sections to cover one half of the forehead and then the other.
STEP FIVE : CLEARING FOREHEAD SWEEPS - Our last move is to help clear away any remaining tension in the forehead, and flush it out with a move that promotes lymphatic drainage. Start by supporting the skin one more time with your non-working hand, and place the other to mirror it, in the center of the forehead. Your working hand is going to pull out to the hairline, down over the temples, past the jawbone and down the neck, ending at the collarbone.
Five minute face massages to-glow are timed to be about five minutes long. There is no sound, so you can use this as quiet time or add your own soundtrack. Follow the moves in the video - about thirty seconds per move - on each side. Complete everything in five moves and five minutes. Repeat if if desired, or mix and match with other videos to really treat your skin. Be sure to check back every Friday for new videos!
