FIVE MINUTE ROSE QUARTZ MASSAGE TIPS

This quick five-minute facial massage was designed especially for our sensitive skin peeps, but just about anyone can benefit from a little skin soothing and calming. Rose quartz is a wonderful tool to work with for sensitive or sensitized skin. It helps reduce redness and leave even the most sensitive skin glowing.


Light, gentle movement is the key to massaging skin when it is sensitive. We recommend using rose quartz with a pure facial oil that is non-irritating, to keep your tool from dragging aggressively on the skin. To enhance the soothing results, chill your tool in cold water or a freezer beforehand.

THE FIVE STEPS

STEP ONE : GENTLE NECK SWEEPS - Throughout this massage, you will want to maintain a very light touch pressure, keeping the stone nearly flat to the skin as you work. To begin, work downwards on the neck in long elegant strokes. This will help with warming up the skin and facilitating some lymphatic drainage. Work from just under the jaw to just above the collarbone and move in sections as you work.


STEP TWO : CHEEK SWEEPS - Unlike other sculpting massages, this is not one designed to carve out the cheekbones. Instead, we want to continue to work with the tool nearly flat to the skin, so that we cover the most surface area. Start at the center of the face near the nose and lips and sweep outward to the area between the temples and the hinge of the jaw.


STEP THREE : UNDEREYE PATS - To gently treat the undereye area and move excess fluid without dragging the skin, you will use the notch end of your tool (but still keep the tool nearly flat to the skin) to pat in small motions, outward. Start near the bridge of the nose and with a patting or rocking motion, work out to the temples. Then repeat.


STEP FOUR : FOREHEAD SWEEPS - This forehead move will sooth tension as well as the skin. Lining up the long edge of the tool in the center of the forehead sweep out to the hairline. You can stop there or continue to the temples. Continue to use light pressure with this move, as if you are sweeping away all the stress of the day in one smooth gliding motion.

STEP FIVE : HOLD AT THE TEMPLES - Our finishing move, is also designed to provide a little mind/body soothing. Rather than using movement, use your cold tool and press it gently to one temple. Hold for thirty seconds and then repeat on the other side. This is also a great time to seal your face massage practice with a few deep breaths. The more we calm the body internally, the more we promote healing for the skin.


Five minute face massages to-glow are timed to be about five minutes long. There is no sound, so you can use this as quiet time or add your own soundtrack. Follow the moves in the video - about thirty seconds per move - on each side. Complete everything in five moves and five minutes. Repeat if if desired, or mix and match with other videos to really treat your skin. Be sure to check back every Friday for new videos!
